Archibald, never Archie, was always more interested in information than people. As such, he's never really had friends, but that suits him just fine.
Background
Always a smart child, Archibald grew up in a small town in Vermont. He much preferred books to people and never really did much extracurricular activity. A scholar, his parents thought he would become a professor or a scientist. Instead, he decided to become a lawyer.
Though he went to Harvard for criminal law, he decided arguing about crimes was not for him. He wanted to catch the criminals as opposed to prosecute them. And so, he signed up for Boston Police Department. And, as soon as the ACRU unit appeared, he signed moved and signed up for that, as well. He wanted challenges and to test his incredible intellect. This was exactly that sort of chance.
Miraculously, he continually ends up with murder cases as his demeanor with victims and witnesses is brusque and not the most friendly. While he never means harm, exactly, he doesn't quite understand human interaction and would prefer to deal with the facts alone. He's unsympathetic and has very little empathy. However, he's quite good at reading people and clues and this alone is why he's a valued member of the ACRU team. As for this interpersonal skills…he's working on them.
